Got it. Thanks. Do you know if Hypertherm consumables fit or should I just buy the generic ones?
If you have a Razorweld 45 then you never had a S45 torch. If you have the Viper 30 then yes you had a Chinese copy S45 torch.

So then what torch came with the RW 45
originally?
When the Razorweld 45 first came out it had a Tecmo PT40 torch on it. But they were NOT using the Tecmo consumables.
Question # one is or isn’t the consumables the same as the hp45
This is what I have found by doing a lot of testing. I have spent a few thousand dollars on real Hypertherm, Tecmo, and a lot of ebay and amazon Hypertherm Chinese copy consumables.
The Hypertherm and Tecmo are the closest in size and weight. The copys are all different some not by much but they will not work all the time. The swirl rings on the copys are all different in hole sizes and the angle they are drilled and some are extra long.
I have used the Tecmo consumables on the Hypertherm 45 torch and the Hypertherm consumables on the two different Tecmo torch’s and they work very well. The Chinese copys are a hit and miss as far as working or even firing the pilot arc.
Just keep in mind their are as many Chinese copy X45 torch’s as their are copy consumables.
So my best advice to you is buy the real Hypertherm consumables, tips, swirl rings, electrodes, cups and shields and don’t mix them with other consumables and see if they work.
I bought The razor weld 45 with straight torch with that said I have no problem buying genuine consumables from the local weld shop, my only problem is that we purchased a plasma cutter, and was not informed that the consumables are limited that to me, is a little frustrating
I guess my second question would be, is there ever been a problem where consumables are not able to be purchased for the razor weld? If that’s the case then I need to contact Langmuir and return the razor Weld and just purchase the power max 45 instead of going through the headache of trying to find consumables anytime we need them
And I’m not looking to buy Chinese copies to save money. My only question is that I can walk into local weld shop and purchase genuine, hyper therm consumables and they would fit the machine torch.
Thank you for your reply and your advice. Please let me know what you think.
My only answer to you is. You didn’t buy a real Hypertherm plasma cutter or a real Hypertherm torch, so why would you really think real Hypertherm consumables would work properly on the setup you did buy?
So if you want to use real Hypertherm consumables buy a real Hypertherm plasma cutter and torch.
Ok genius I bought the razor weld cause I live down the street from where they manufacture all these parts for this table they made it seem like the razor weld was plug and play not china crap.
And why are you on here if your going to treat everyone like they should know the answers to the questions there asking…
So I’ll ask the question again so u can understand it…. If and I mean a big if smart guy you can’t order consumables on their website where or what kind will work to get you by. That’s all… I know what I bought but if I can’t get parts for it then ya I will buy a “REAL” Hyper Therm.
My advice to anyone reading this is don’t waste ur money on razor weld just get hyper therm.
Wyatt, I am not a genius, I wish I were. Some times I am a smart ass. I didn’t mean to offend you with my answers.
If you had done your research before purchase, you would have known to purchase the Hypertherm plasma cutter instead of the razorweld…
And it’s unlikely, given your response, @wyattswelding , that he’ll ever bother you again with his answers.
I know I won’t.
Hey keyboard warrior thanks for you input!
It was simple questions can or cant you get consumables elsewhere for it if they’re not available on Langmuir website.
It’s always someone trying to make you feel stupid over something on these or butting in to put their input in on something to put you down in some way. The advise he gave was valid until he decided to throw a twist in there on how I’m trying to buy consumables other then what’s made for it
Definitely not the case but there are many welders plasma cutters out there that are interchangeable that’s the only thing I was trying to find out and from what I’ve seen others are as well.
Thanks for your very helpful input.
I understand your concern. These guys are just being honest and not trying to be rude. They are all great guys. Some say they are the best anyhow they are great guys.
As far as I can tell you yes there is a few places you can order the original consumables. A few on eBay if I remember correctly. It has been a while since I bought consumable for mine I did a upgrade. The razor weld is a great starter machine.
Don’t think of me as being rude but snapping at someone for a rude comment doesn’t help. What one See’s as rude others don’t. When I first started hanging out here I thought some was very rude but it is just the way some people are.
Well said and thank you for you input.
I have a RW 45 and buy my consumables from @mechanic416 they may not be OEM but they work fine. Save yourself all this aggravation and get his. Problem solved! ![]()
Thank you for your input but order has already been canceled.
Im on here looking for the same answers but only find confusion because no one really knows the answers.Im going to real experts at my local welding shop
Good luck with that.
