Razorweld will not cut continues cut longer then 10 seconds

For some reason my razorweld 45 will not do a continuous cut that is about 10 seconds or longer. I can do multiple small cuts, but as soon as it’s cutting more then 10 seconds approximately, the plasma cutter shuts off, the table finishes likes it’s supposed to. I’ve tried grounding directly to the part and still no change

Hows your air? Mine did the same thing when I was fighting water in my air lines. Im using a motor guard filter now and no longer have this problem

I am using 2 desecant filters so I would think it would be fine. Maybe it’s a air line issue? It’s just so inconsisten. It will quit cutting, I restart the program and it won’t arc at all, let it run, restart and it will cut some more then quit, and repeat over and over

Have you checked your electrode?

It’s new, maybe has 2-3 pieces cut with it. But I have not checked it today. Would they way it look show me a water issue?

Make sure your work cable (ground clamp) in connected well. Every time I have had an issue of the arc going out it was a bad connection. You may want to try attaching the the work cable directly to the part you are cutting. Sounds like the torch goes out coming off the pilot arc maybe.

I’ve tried that with no change in results. From the other responses, water sounds like it might be the culprit

I bet its water in line

i invested in HF air dryer hopefully that will save headache and consumables

I’m going today to get a better filtration system and build a water trap for the air compressor as well.

is your electrode screwed in securely?

Ya, I double check that every time

Hi ya…
Can you tell me if you use the motor guard filter for the razorweld? My husband is thinking we may need something in case of water
…we just moved to Arkansas in Dec and now feeling the humidity for the first time…its July 22nd now
Also getting HF air dryer/regulater for the tank pictured above.

A lot of users here are running the Motorguard as the final filter before the plasma. Any earlier in the supply and you risk the filter getting wet.

Ok I googled motorguard and it came up with way too many choices…lol …can you tell me which one is for the razorweld 45 ? And you say the final filter before the plasma…so it connects to the hose from our compressor, then a short hose to the razorweld?

Motorguard filters are made to remove water from the air. They do get wet and should be changed out every 30 days. So keep a supply of replacement filters on hand.
