I bought 4 different ones, to try out.
The amazon plastic cheapos on the left - they work, but flex too much for my preference, they are $15 for 2, and are the only ones that don’t come with a threaded stud.
The 2nd from the left is a zinc unit from McMaster 2832N21 at $18 it’s very well made.
The 3rd from the left is McMaster 5634K26 at $15.35 ea, rubber coated grip and decent quality.
The 4th is McMaster 2832N34 and are $11.25 ea, also decent quality and are the smallest of the lot. I have had 2 jobs that got in the way slightly of the handles, but they are a yuge time saver when it comes to adjusting or changing punches out, and can get the punch in place with one hand.
I don’t understand why the punch holding plates have such long slots in them? it’s a bit of a pain to have to get them raised up while trying to install a heavy 16" Xgooseneck punch. I might make new ones with the correct size hole in them at some if I end up keeping this machine.
