Prime weld new cut 60 - Solved

Back story purchased the crossfire pro back in 2021 and at the time paired it with at the time prime weld cut 60. Last month on black Friday I purchased the new version on the cut 60. My question is, has anyone installed the new version of the cut with their crossfire pro?

Plenty of people have.

You can run divided or raw with the newest variant as they completely redid the voltage divider section.

Thanks Im looking at needing photos of those who have done this.

What exactly though?

You have a plug that is pre-wired with labels on each cable end. Plus the manual that is with you also tells you what each pin is for.

Langmuir’s guide here -

This is the only time where you need to ensure you have the correct polarity wired which again, is marked on your included cable from PrimeWeld.

Torch ON/OFF is the same as your old plasma cutter. It is not wire specific, just two wires that are within the same circuit.

Post pictures of whatever you’re having issues with.

Yes, aware of that manual.

This is for hooking up to Raw voltage. This is my recommendation.

Ok div wires red and black go to cnc wiring port pin 3 and 4 the torch on are pins 1 and 2 where do the torch and clamp go?

I have that model and that is the way it was hooked up but this is the new model cut 60.

Pin 1 and 2 are the torch trigger. It is just a switch so the hook up is either wire to the Langmuir controller box that says Torch on and off. I would hook it to raw voltage but you can use pins 4 and 6 for divided voltage. Pin 6 will be the positive. Pin 4 the negative. This is important to connect it correctly to the VMI box.

Id like to stay with raw voltage. I’ve had good luck with that setup.

Then the download I sent you will work. You will still need to solder pins 1 and 2 to the torch switch. Just remember that the torch is negative (black) and the work clamp is positive (red). This very important

Ok so even on the new version to use raw voltage I’ll still need to hook the clamp and the torch wires inside the plasma cutter like it was before ?

For any plasma cutter without unfiltered raw output, that is correct.

Directly inside the machine.

No, but I would. But you could use pin 3 and 4

Pin 4 is positive and pin 3 is negative. My advice is to wire like the download says. Your call..Adobe Acrobat

the RAW voltage write up won’t work on this newest version of the cut60. everything is done via the cnc port.

divided voltage works fine as it should on the newest cutter. no need to run RAW.

I don’t think i’ve seen users of the newest cut60 running raw voltage yet so i can’t confirm that it works properly.

Just to make sure it would need pins 4 and 6

Yes, for divided voltage, pin 4 is negative, and pin 6 is positive. This is important to get the polarity correct. Good luck. I guess the latest version is fixed. @nicaDd
