Hi there I am new to cnc plasma cutting. Have asked a few questions in here aready and have gotten a lot of help. So I got a new Primeweld cut 60 plasma cutter with the cnc port in the back. And got it wired up ( Don’t have THC). It cuts good but my problem is when the cut is close to the next cut and it finishes the cut and moves it is still cutting material. But if the next cut is far away it doesn’t. It’s not cutting all the way through the material . Almost like it’s moving before the plasma cutter shuts off. Or is it in the G code or moving to fast.
Ya it is .
It has to be in CUT and 2T or it will not shut off the pilot arc. Or you have it wired wrong.
It is in both I have it wired to start and stop. I called prime weld before I did it cause I wasnt sure with all the other wires.
Then it may be in your program settings.
What settings would make it do that.
Send us a video of what it’s doing. Make sure the work clamp is on the metal you’re cutting, also
I am having a hard time visualizing it. How long does it take to shut down between Pierces? If you jump the barrel connection on the torch on the off plug. Does it shut off immediately? Or stay on for a second or two?
I can’t even see it when it is cutting when I am watching . It looks like it is shutting off to me no sparks. How about a picture of the piece so you can see what I mean.
If you pull the torch on/ off the cable from the control box. You can use a paper clip to jump it out. It’s just a switch, no power. The torch should fire.
Ok I can try it
I still need to work on it this is for my Granddaughters Volleyball team. Going to make one for each one. Realized the letters are to close.
Make sure you set the torch height to .06. You did say you don’t have a THC. That project should not be a problem.
Ya i use the 1/16 shim that comes with it. I have cut other stuff out but with the yes welder one. And it didn’t do this just would cut out to much material.
I would get in touch with Primeweld. I don’t believe that the control box is keeping the torch on.
Ya I tried calling them but I am in Iowa and they are in New Jersey. And they was closed already.
My suggestion is to draw up a simple part and see what it does. That will eliminate the soccer ball G-code.
I have to go, but I will check back.
Ok I will thanks
What program are you using for CAD/CAM?
