Powermax30 XP Consumables

Hi All,
I am thinking about getting a Powermax30 XP so, I am reading up on it. While looking for consumables, I came across someone selling some 45A consumables designed for the T45v/T45m torch. The seller says he has used these type of consumables in his Powermax30 XP and they work great. Is this possible? If so, are there any drawbacks to using these in the 30XP? I’ve done some research on the subject and I see some of the HyAccess consumables are listed for the Powermax30 / 30xp/ 45. This makes me think it may be possible.
Thanks.

Yes you could use the old Powermax 45 tips with a 30XP. I don’t see any need for this as the orifice hole is a lot larger 1.0mm/.040" then the 30 amp tips 0.8mm/.029". You would get a wider kerf and other then being new it would be like using a well used 30 amp tip.

The Powermax 30 uses different consumables than the 45 as well as the 30XP. You could use the Powermax 30 consumables on the 45 but you have to use everything. You can also use the 30XP tips on the old Powermax 45 for a finer cut.

Thanks for the reply. I get what you are saying about the larger orifice. I have a couple of follow up questions, if you don’t mind. Is it possible to mix the Powermax 45 electrodes, swirl rings, shields, etc. with the 30XP nozzles? If so, are there any drawbacks? The reason I am asking is because a picked up a used 30XP and it came with a bunch of Powermax 45 consumables. I am waiting on it to arrive, so I can do some testing. I hate to waste the Powermax 45 consumables.

I know the cutting tips can be, but I have never tried to mix consumables from the 45 and the 30xp. Now I am guessing if you used all the 45 consumables on a 30xp they may work.

Thanks. I will give it a try when the machine arrives.
