Powermax 30 (old model) suitability

I have been offered a Hypertherm powermax 30 at I think is a reasonable price (650 USD) . Machine works fine, looks to have been stored away.

This is not an 30 AIR or 30 XP its just 30. I think this an older model. I tried talking to local hypertherm sales agent and he suggested these machines were all recalled,(, and made me reasonable list discount on a brand new 30 xp. ) Is this old powermax 30 a good one for CNC - I know about the manual torch limitation - there is some hint from other local hyptherm users that this model was recalled yet I cant see any indication online . Latest user manual online is November 2009, and it appears OK in that.

I do not need to greater than 4mm and will use low duty cycle…

I think I would stay away from that unit as its old, consumables will be getting harder to find and they did have some trouble with them.

Look for a newer modal with more power and you can get the consumables for.
