Has anyone thought about doing this or has done it ? I figured it would be a lot easier to clean and won’t corrode the aluminum
Very good idea! But would it still suitable for the ground clamp
I was even thinking about just coating the pan with off the shelf spray in bedliner. ??
To each his own of course, but I ground to the work or the slats only. Found I have better results with the shortest path to the machines ground clamp.
Ya that’s all I wanted to coat is the pan not the slats but wasn’t sure if anyone else had done it and had a issue with it that I haven’t thought of
My torchmate water table is powder coated steel.
If I remember correctly it’s 2 or 3 pieces that are bolted together and you silicone the seams so water doesn’t leak. After about 3 years i cleaned it out and one spot of the powder wore off so I hit it with spray paint and it’s been fine ever since. I am do for another cleaning so i’ll let you know.
I have always grounded mine to the drain valve threaded into the waterpan and never had any issues
Good to know thanks for the feedback gamble garage
I’d almost guess that powder coat would be even less than spray in bed liner too. Considering it’s coated steel, do you have any sort of anode in the tray then? Probably not needed?
Man, this is a good idea! I think that I’m gonna get mine coated. Then I should not have to drain it all the time.
i think its beter to just clamp the ground onto a slat instead of the actual water tray anyway.
