Hello all,
Nube to the machine and group. Just about to fire up my Crossfire Pro table.
I see posts are available for MC 2020 but not any older versions. Any chance I could find a post for MC 2018 or X5 somewhere?
Sheetcam looks to be the other option. I am getting old and would like to use something I am familiar with.
I can hand program Fanuc for lathes and Dynapath for my mill.
Does Fire Control have a list of G codes?
Hello I’ve never seen a reference but it’s an extremely basic machine to program by hand. I think if you just take a sample program out of the Fusion-360 post processor and copy/paste the IHS procedure before any pierce operation you are 99% there. Only thing there are a couple of mandatory comments that firecontrol wants to see but those are easy to fake
This document should help, if you want to write your own post processor.
Welcome to the forum!
There are lots of people who will help you learn along the way.
If trying to program the gcode yourself proves too time consuming here is the typical approach. You may have already seen this “Workflow” page from Langmuir:

Quick review:
- Design. Just about any program that will give you and SVG, DXF or EPS file can be used in the second step. (I am not familiar with EPS files…I just see it in the above graphic).
- Programming/Manufacturing (making the gcode). Basically you are left with two choices: Fusion 360 (Free to Hobby/Personal use) or SheetCAM (One time fee).
- Cutting. To control the table you have one choice…well basically, you have no choice: FireControl.
Thank you guys for the rapid responses. After going down the software rabbit hole some. I think I will be going the simple route of getting Sheetcam.*
Wow where did you find this I was unaware
Someone from Langmuir posted it a while ago
