Pool of hydraulic oil

Did anyone else receive their titan covered and dripping with hydraulic oil?

It probably just splashed out the vent. I would be worried that your machine had a rough ride from Conroe. Hopefully, it didn’t fall over during transportation unless you find a hose off.

Yes, I had the same issue. All the boxes in the crate below the control box were saturated. I had to remove the lid from the control box and douche out the bottom of the inside with avgas. fortunately none of the electronics had any oil contamination. No apparent leaking since.

Mine also came covered in hydraulic oil. Had to wipe it all out of the bottom of the control box. Haven’t seen a drop since.

Mine did too. I was informed that unless a truly crazy amount got out it should be fine.

Appreciate it all!

Popped open the top to check hoses and to give it a clean. looks like it got on some of the electronics closest, so will give em a good clean before power.

What kind of gaskets are they using for the top of the tank? Is is just a silicone bead? Appears to protrude out in made spots.

Yes mine was the same, The tank has the bolt spacing pretty far apart and the flanges are pretty flimsy. I recommended they beef it up.
And yes I had oil all over everything also, never could tell where it came from. the vent holes were sealed with tape and it was dry on top. Mine has not leaked since, I dont think :grinning:

Seems like a never ending love hate with these products. Lead screw couplers were toast, they sent me new ones. Currently having freezing issues (I will try the new patch). NOW fluid leak. anyone have suggestion on where it could be from? Seems like two ports on the bottom of machine. assuning all the barbed ends with no clamps are low pressure?

I had to tighten several of the hydraulic fittings as they were leaking when under pressure. That Tee fitting that is in your photo was one that was leaking on my machine.

thanks I’ll have to go through them all. Heard the stories of leaks and I was like, thankfully Im not one of them (cause this thing has been like red headed step child!) and boom, freezes and leaks yesterday!

The hoses plugged into the barbed ports are at no pressure - the one on the left is the bleed cable that is only used during the bleed procedure. The one on the right is the pressure relief overflow/breather valve.

That oil leak may just be leftover oil spillage during shipping - you unit looks like it has the old silicone which was a worse sealant. I would feel around your hardlines and if everything feels dry you are fine.

My machine shipped with all the high pressure fittings marked up with a sharpie. Any loose fittings would easily be seen. Nice touch Langmuir!

So far it turns out it was one of the fittings with sharpie marked. They said those are regulated lines at factory and to not move them. So I backed it off and sloped some teflon in there (no room to work at all). I think its good now. Extremely dissapointed in the design concept. Electronics should be placed below or hydraulics below. Its worse than working on a new car where you have to tear the whole thing apart to remove a battery!
