Pierce hole too big?

Hey guys! I have to preface this by saying that 99% of the time, I don’t have this issue but today I cut out one of these American Flags from the FireShare page and the pierce hole is like double the size of the line I’m cutting. Any idea how to fix this for the future?

there are several factors that boil down to a bigger Pierce divot.

  • If you’re using sheet Cam making sure that your plunge rate is set between 60 and 100 inches per minute. A slow plunge rate adds time to pierce time.

  • Reduce your Pierce delay as much as possible while still piercing the material

  • Having a shorter Pierce height can help.

  • use a lower amperage

  • reduce the speed of the actual cut which will increase the kerf width

  • use consumables with a perfectly round hole in the nozzle.

If you could post some of the G code or link the file, maybe something will jump out to somebody on forum.
