Set my pierce delay at 0.5 on 14 gauge like manual said. Would touch down and spark but no fire . Then would go to fault. Set it to 1.0 works fine. Scratching my head HELP ??? Any Recommendations ??
Forgot to tell you…oops!
Hypertherm calculates the Pierce delay different so you will find that in most cases you will need to add 0.2 to 0.5 seconds to the values in the chart.
You might find that you will probably find that 0.7 seconds will work for most thicknesses below 12 gauge. 1/2 inch plate might be as much as 1.5 seconds. You probably don’t need 1.0 second for 14 gauge.
Now Fine-cut is a bit faster and some people have reported with the SYNC cartridges of getting by with the listed pierce delay that Hypertherm chart declares.
Unless it is a Sync specific issue, I have .6 as a minimum on both my Hypertherms. 45xp will do .5" with a .8 pierce delay.
The initial pierce of a program you can get away with a shorter one, but the rest need another .075 at least. Something to do with the Post Processor I think I remember reading.
