Hello Everyone, I’m not sure if its how the machine is set or there is a problem with the machine that I have. I understand the STOP option, but sometimes when I have really long cuts that I have to make, I would like to Pause the machine and after it cools down I want to start again from the same spot I paused it on, I thought that the machine will fire and start cutting but nothing happens, it seams that the Pause and the stop buttons have the exact same function.
If you’re pausing in the middle of a cut you’re always going to have issues. The pause is meant to be used during travel or during a issue. If you pause in the middle of the cut you’ll have to select the nearest line to where you stopped and regenerate the program by line.
Check out this post which has a screenshotted sequence of how to use the regenerate by line
Unless it an emergent situation, you really should only pause during a rapid movement. If you pause while cutting you will have to do as tin suggested and select a line to re-start your cut. When you start a cut in the middle of a loop, you won’t get a lead in unless you select the start of the loop where the lead in occurs.
Best practice is to Pause during a fast move between cuts. I Run an Everlast 82i with Raw Voltage connection. 60% Duty Cycle. I will let it run for about 5 minutes then pause during a fast move. During the pause i wipe the tip off. Sometime slag sticks to the tip and will cause the cut height to be too high. Also if you have some weld spatter spray handy it helps to keep the slag from sticking to the tip. I just cut a 24" x 36" sign with lots of text. All tabs or bridges on letters with loops work best at .043 tabs. This last sign cut perfectly. I hope you find this information helpful. I ran a Crossfire Por for 3 years and now an XR for 1 year.
