Hello
I am new to cnc Plasma but have owned a co2 laser for about 5 years, I have been reading where excessive nodes are no problem with a laser but can cause issues when plasma cutting. On some BMT files I have converted to dxf there are a tremendous amount of nodes and I cannot reduce them by much,I have corel x6
Inkscape is Free…you can take DFX and open the…clean them up and save them as SVG…less nodes
Are you using the simplify operation?
Where would I find that?
Here is the file. I also noticed the nodes were mostly red bubt one object is blue nodes and that responded to reduce nodes command
test.dxf (589.5 KB)
With the reduce nodes (toolbox Shape tool - looks like an open parentheses with a small square on it, then Select all Nodes which are 3 small squares on the property bar, then Reduce Nodes on the property bar) you can use the curve smoothness slider to get more or less node simplification.
Thanks
I watched and spoke with Doug Green last night and If I color fill move fill then convert to line it helps alot. The red nodes in the file do not respond to reduction at all
