No air with Everlast 62i (solved)

I have installed most of my new air drying system. I needed to cut out a bracket for my new desiccant air dryer. Keep in mind it has been about 3 weeks since I fired this thing up.

  • I have good air pressure to the Everlast 62i. It shows the correct air pressure on the front panel (77psi)
  • I removed the solenoid and cleaned it (i did this because I have been running wet/dirty air through it up until this point)
  • I stretched out the spring a little (it started a little under 3/4in, was still under 1in when I finished)
  • reassembled
I hook everything up and go to test the torch. No air is coming out. I try the air test on the plasma cutter, and nothing happens. I tried it with the hand torch and again nothing happens. I can hear the on/off switch triggering in the cutter.

It’s gotta be the solenoid, right? Nothing else has been touched in the cutter.

If I over stretched the spring (the thing I’m worried about) would this prevent the air from making it through the machine?

Depending on how cold it is in your shop the air lines could be frozen. I have seen this a lot this year.

na. I’m in southern Louisiana. It is 65f in my garage

spent some time with @mechanic416 on the phone and we figured out that it is in fact the solenoid. We tested the voltage to the solenoid (it is getting voltage), and it is not activating. I will contact Everlast and get a new solenoid on the way.

Thank you very much, George!
