I just read the release notes for Affinity Designer 2.5 and saw they have added a ‘clean up’ operation when importing DXF files:
They are making some good improvements. DXF support is nice but I have no use for it.
True, but this could tip the scales for those who do. Might need some updated tutorials…
I guess I don’t fully understand the application u less you have an existing dxf that you want to edit and then post process in something other than fusion?
If you import an svg to fusion doesn’t the smoothing become moot?
Exactly. Which is the case if you get a DXF from some other source, that you want to modify (or fix) with something like Affinity Designer, to take a random example, and then, because you’re not using Fusion, post process in SheetCam, after exporting it as an SVG from Affinity.
This would greatly assist in keeping large part qty nested files easier for F360 to open and program for cutting.
