Has anybody tried the new v 8.0 that added 2D CAD? Really curious if this can be a viable, single point solution like Fusion.
I went ahead and installed it. I’m probably not going to use the CAD. I can do much more with SolidWorks or Fusion.
I will say that if you import your toolset from v7.0, you may run into issues. I ended up having to uninstall 8.0 and reinstall and then build my own toolset. Not really sure, could’ve been something specific to the toolset that I downloaded for 7.0, but the post errors went away after starting over.
I used it for some pretty basic bushings. Haven’t tried it for any signs. You still have to export DXF and then open that DXF in CAM. I was expecting more integration like we find in Fusion360. I’ll probably just stick with SolidWorks and Fusion for my work.
I have played with it some but it seems like some of the command dialog is missing when trying to create dimensional stuff or maybe just some weird thing with my desktop. I’ll download it on my laptop while I am away on business and see…
