New Razorweld X45 Torch Problems

I have the Razorweld 30i and the original touch shorted out after about a years worth. I bought the new Razorweld X45 torch with new consumables directly from Langmuir and have been having troubles running it with my Razorweld 30i.

The problem I have been having is the dross/slag is really holding onto the metal on the backside of cut pieces. It is particularly bad around points and small curves, to the point where I can’t even chisel it off with a flathead screwdriver and a hammer.

I’m running it anywhere from 27 - 30 amps and have tried 90 to 120 IPM with no luck on getting the dross to come off easier. Air pressure is around 70 - 75 PSI. I never ran into this issue with the original torch. Any insight on what can help eliminate the dross/slag from practically “welding” itself to the backside of cut pieces would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That’s because the cutting tip has a orifice hole that’s 1.0mm /.042" rated at 50 amps. That is way to big for a 30 amp plasma cutter. You need a 0.8mm/.029" rated at 30 amps with 60psi. Unfortunately you can not get different tips for the X45. Unless you want to buy a complete Hypertherm Powermax 30 consumable kit and give that a try.

Bummer, I wish that Langmuirsystems would specify that when they state “compatible” on the listing of the X45 Torch with the Vipercut 30i before I spent over $300. I’ll look into hypertherms consumable kit. Thanks

Yes it is, if you would have contacted me I could have sold you a PT40 torch that would have worked a lot better and you could have gotten 20 and 30 amp consumables for a lot less.

try this…bump up the air pressure to 100psi and slow down your speed to 67ipm

That don’t make sense when you never need more then 80psi cutting at 100 amps on 1 1/2" plate!

How much do you sell a PT40 torch for?

$220 + shipping + consumables if you want them with the torch.

You are so arrogant. 9 times out of 10 you look down your nose at struggling people and never help with your comments. Your first answer is pitiful. They always are. With your knowledge you can be kind and helpful to struggling people.
Yes they can buy your items, great. But get off your high horse and don’t be such an azz all the time.
Everyone can’t be a James Hatch but sheesh I cringe how you treat people here.

By the way I have run my razor at those settings for over a year. The machine cuts about 6 hours a day 6 days a week. Gross 100,000 with this little Langmuir and razor so stick it mechanic416 does that make sense for you?

Thank you for the feedback.
