God I love this machine… Built this 32" 400,000 btu fire pit for momma. Turn the gas valve push the button and bamm. Wife has smile from one ear to another.
Wow! Nice!
would love to see some other pictures of that masterpiece…
Actually it was easy. Two circles 32" and 36" on the outside. Break them in half on Fusion.
Then 32" x 3.14 , 14" wide. Send it through the roller and start welding.
I welded some cross bracing at 8" below the rim.
Bought the burner and ss pan from Amazon.
$250 and $150 for trapezoid blocks.
Hook it up to “Propane and propane accessories”
Push the button and bamm.
The logs are sch 40 black pipe with holes cut in them with a plasma cutter. Ran beads of weld down the length to simulate bark.
I have some Sch40 white pipe. If I paint it black, will that work? Still there’s still that problem of ‘welding’… that always seems to come up in this forum! Can’t you guys use glue or something?
Tom , I don’t think it will work out. Have to say that I copied them from the internet. Was a total pain in the butt though. Welding beads for hours. I recommend buying them unless you have absolutely nothing to do . I did buy the pinecone. $70
@Bigdaddy2166, Very cool project. Logs are a very cool touch. Any chance you have photos thru out the build? Drawings? Do you have a propane line ran under the pit to a tank or did you plan for a line in the location. Thanks.
Ran the 3/4 line right underneath pit. Don’t have a picture of it. But here is the prefab work on patio. Sorry I didn’t take pictures.
The pit itself is very easy. If you don’t have a roller it will be much harder.
Great work. it looks like it’s going to be a joy forever.
Thanks TinWhisperer, The whole patio and deck project is coming around. Momma is very happy.
Winds been blowing like 20 mph the last couple of days. Maybe tonight we can use it.
Mine is connected underground to a 120gal tank on the side of the house. We really are enjoying it.
