Just hooked up Everlast 62i started to do a test cut and was not able to fire torch. Am I overlooking something I got this error message
Check your pierce delay setting for your material thickness.
Note : Firecontrol says minimum of 0.5
Note2: Make sure positive clamp is on metal also.
If these are good you can post your first 20 lines of gcode by going to your .nc file and opening with notepad and posting. Lots of knowledgeable people on here can look over settings
THC-Test Report_11-12-2023_21-31.txt (209 Bytes)

If you think it’s an THC issue you can deselect it when you create Gcode and see if it works.
Video on how to open your Gcode with notepad…
Does it fire if you hit the torch fire button in Firecontrol?
Its a machine torch and no it would fire in fire control
Do you hear the relay click in the control box, when you hit the torch fire button in Firecontrol?
Do you have the torch fire cable connected to pins 1&2 in the CNC connector?
Is that torch fire cable plugged into the “torch on/off” port on the control box?
I’ll lesson for the relay when I get home tonight. Not sure about it.
Yes its on 1&2 on the plug on the back of plasma cutter.
Yes the other end is plugged into torch on/off on control box.
Hey @Dozer Glen from FB here…
ok…
try these in order…
-plug and unplug the on/off cord from the back of the box…see if that works…
- without the plasma on…but everything connected and firecontrol turned on click the torch test fire on fire control and listen for a click inside the control box…do this severla times to make sure you hear the click
- if you hear a click…good…if not you wioll need to open the control box…turn off the power and look for the little raised circuit board with a little black box on it…you can pull that board off and then push it back on…
- check to see if you get arc…
-power everyhting up…put a scrap metal on the table…try test fire with the torch …see if you get arc…if no arc do you hear air comming out of the torch?
if there is air but no arc then time to turn everything off and and then take the torch apart and make sure you have the elecetrode in place…the swirl ring in place…and that the electrode can be pushed in and out with a spring like movement…
try all this and let us know/…
They glen do you know who this is. We are friends on Facebook.lol I’ll try it thanks
What was the solution here? I’m thinking of the crossfire/62i combo.
There is nothing wrong with the combination of Crossfire Pro and the Everlast 62i. There are many people using that combo.
The OP’s solution was most likely incorrect wiring or a bad torch firing relay.
It could also have been a number of other user errors, such as low or no air pressure to the plasma cutter or incorrectly assembled torch consumables.
I wouldn’t use his problems as a reason not to purchase the 62i.
It’s a great plasma cutter. Following the directions is the key to success in this venture.
