New computer and settings

Hi everyone, I recently bought a replacement computer for my CrossFire Pro and I’m wondering if I need to reconfigure CrossFire Pro or if the settings are stored in the controller instead of the computer. For instance, are the soft limits stored in the controller?

You will need to load FireControl. You will need to load the CAM software you use and download the post processor for which ever program. Most of the settings for FireControl live in the enclosure.

Your “tools” for SheetCAM and/or Fusion might be recoverable from your old computer. Fusion will store the tools online if you checked the correct box in Fusion. But, tools really are not that hard to set up unless you had lots of tools and special settings…then it could be a bit frustrating. You can reverse engineer your tools by looking at some of your gcode files because that will have your cut height, pierce height, cut speed, pierce delay but it won’t have your kerf width.

All of your table limits are in the controller.

If you use Fusion for CAM work on the computer being replaced, simply export your tool library and bring it over to the new computer via thumb drive.

I believe Sheetcam allows you to export libraries as well. Just need to ask Sheetcam to transfer your license over.
