I’d like nest parts to share a cut edge, how do you do that so you don’t shrink your parts? If I simply nest on their edge, I expect I’ll be taking half my kerf width from each part edge.
I know I could oversize the parts when I draw them, but is there a simpler way in sheetcam or something? Seems like this must come up alot with a plasma table?
Depending on which way it’s cutting there’s a different bevel on one side of the plasma stream or the other because of the direction of spin in the plasma flow (clockwise).
Normally the outside loops of a part would be cut counterclockwise and if you shared edges one of the pieces would end up with the bevel that should have been on the scrap side.
I have seen people do it but one of the sides will end up with more bevel than the other.
Thank you, so do most swirl rings go the same direction as that picture because I’ve had terrible bevel, and I noticed that sheetcam is running the toolpath the opposite way as your bevel drawing.
It’s counterclockwise outside and clockwise inside
