now im lost its still not firing
when i fire it, it says live voltage 300.0 but nothing actully happening. i hit 2t and i have good air flow etc.
If it says 300v, it’s sending the pilot arc voltage to the torch. It’s probably not firing because the electrode is not moving.
Are the consumables installed correctly?
Is the air connected and pressure high enough (around 70 psi)
Is the torch clamped near the nozzle end? Some torches have moving parts in the lower 3-4 inches that can be restricted by clamping them.
appreciate the input but i don’t think its that either. i have that picture hanging up in front of my table just so i didnt forget that.
running 120 psi into my first regulator then on my machine working pressure is @ 75 2t tests shows good working pressure.
Also not showing any lights on my “led panel” on fire control “active” “down” “ok” etc no lights illuminated
Remove the torch cap and check if you can push the electrode up with your finger. It should move upward and then snap back down. This is the mechanism that ignites the torch.
Additionally, ensure that you have 100 psi supplied to the plasma cutter, with the regulator set to a minimum of 70 psi.
Send pictures of all your connections to the vmi and control box.
did that and all good there.
should i pull the cover off the plasma?
Look its late but it will only take about 10 min. to see what your trouble is.

Why would i get a static shock now thru my computer when i just hit fire on fire control. This is new.
No call George.
Thanks to George and 10 minutes of his time my torch is firing. I purchased a machine torch directly from primeweld. The pins were on 7 and 4. After George took me thru a series of steps to troubleshoot, he found the culprit and guided me thru the fix. I easily changed out the pins on the end of my machine torch going to my plasma cutter to 1 and 9 and hit fire and BINGO! Thank you everyone for helping me figure this out. I genuinly appriciate it!
Congratulation! Glad you got it working.
thanks! its working flawlessly now getting some really good cuts!
Old @mechanic416 pulls another rabbit out of his hat . Anybody on this forum who doesn’t buy their consumables from George should be ashamed of themselves.
Just my two cents again. When you need him, he is there to talk you through stuff @ 10 pm—just saying. Hell, I’m sleeping by then…
Primeweld must be selling Plasmadyn torches.
Agreed I’m definitely going to be a lifelong customer of George!
