None of these anti hoodie hoodlums live in Michigan
Its not so much MI as its me. I just cant get warm in the winter. The difference between having the back of my neck and head covered is unbelievable!
Do you take blood thinners? Almost everyone I know that does is the same way. My wife has a weird blood disorder she can stand for me to roll the window down on the truck at night in the summer time.
nope no blood thinners
We get on some wild tangents here.
Hats
Hair
Beanies in the heat
Hoodies while driving
Driving in the snow
Medication affecting blood flow
Pretty normal. Your head & neck are incredible heatsinks. Anyone who does real cold weather camping will tell you it’s more important to have your head & neck covered than most of the rest of your body. All the blood flow & big arteries pump heat out. (Corollary is if you’re really hot, if your wear a wet or cold neckband you’ll feel way more comfortable.)
Feet are the other disproportionate heat exchangers. The lack of fat and thick tissue with just skin between the blood vessels and the air lets them radiate heat much faster than their proportion of your overall skin coverage suggests. The downside is you’ll also dump up to a pint of water in your socks everyday too.
All I implied was that these GenZ people drove me up the wall with the wool hats in the summer. Plus, the fact that @brownfox man bun does make me jealous . I would pony tail it like Greg Allman…
I’m not sure how we got to blood thinners.
I wonder if Viagra is a blood thinner?
Anywho…as long a we are showing off our hats, here is my free backhoe holding my “$10,000 hat”
I’m hoping to be able to afford a Langmuir hat one day though.
It’s just a partial man pony right now. Sometimes a top knot just to get it out of my face. I’ll get there though. Lol
It’s glorious.
Here is my $8,000 hard hat:
I bought a John Deere 870 tractor back in about 1995 with a front loader and post hole digger. Paid about $19K. Four weeks later I asked what the back hoe attachment would cost. I think his first price was about $8,400. I reminded him that I just gave him a whole bunch of money a few weeks ago so he said $8,100 including tax. I said “you gotta throw in something free. I want that cowboy hat.” He shook his head and said “Are you seriously going to wear it?” I said “Yes.” He relented. I think he really hoped that I never came back again.
I see that tractor today is fetching a reasonable price:
Mine has less than 500 hours.
I’m jealous. Langmuir didn’t send me one. But it is a nice hat.
