New to plasma cutting and had a friend set the job up but they are no longer available to help me out.
working with Everlast 82i and have a project that is made out of 3/8" mild steel. Setting is 80 amp, 70 psi, 48 ipm, 1.5 pierce delay and it is doing a great cut. I want to move it up to a 1/2" mild steel and not sure what setting I should change machine maxed at 80 amp and 70 psi so that is leveeing me ipm should I drop it down to 40 or 45 should I change the pierce delay or is there something else I should be looking at?
I’d up the pierce delay to 2, drop the speed to 35. Watch it cut and make adjustments fire control until it looks just right. Then do the math on what your fire control percentages are and change the file to match it. Good to go.

Also keep in the back of your mind the duty cycle for your machine. If you hit that ur torch will stop. Makes for a bit of a headache. If your program run time exceeds ur torch duty cycle you might consider lowering amperage and speed so that you don’t have to worry about duty cycle. Just an idea.
