We recently got a CrossFire Pro. We plan on using our Miller Spectrum 875 plasma cutter with the automatic Torch Height Control. A bug that we’ve encountered is how to wire up the automatic torch on and automatic torch off function. The Miller book that came with the plasma cutter shows a conversion harness that can be ordered to convert the manual torch cable to work with CNC capabilities. Is this harness really necessary or is there an alternative solution to this problem?
From what I know, the Miller harness is just some wires with instructions on where they go. If you can figure out where to wire things (the schematics are in the manual) you can probably wire up your own harness. I don’t have the details on how to do this, but I think it’s possible. You’ll be using the raw voltage output from the 875 to feed into the LS THC box and that will divide it 50:1 for you.
