Material racks? Lets see them!

I’m sure some of you guys have come up with solutions to storing 2’x2’ material.

Let see what you have done!

Im trying to come up with something That is space friendly for those guys doing this int heir garage. If we can all give some input I’ll model it up in Solidworks and share the files on Fireshare.

I got access to material at a scrap yard so i been getting industrial shelving and stands heavy enough to stack material on. Id look at scrap yards. I saved myself alot of money.

I get all my material through my work so I’m covered there. I’m looking for creative ways to store the material.

Someone on here had a nice floor rack they made. I’m in the same boat as you and need something for myself as up until now, I’ve only ever had to store tube (for motorcycle handlebars and frames). Please share if you come up with something.

Here’s mine that I made. I deal with 2x4 sheets. It’s a good size and it’s one less cut for the metal shop. Potentially less wasted material too. I’ve got it loaded down big time right now. Need to cut some more metal :grin:

This is the style I like, it reminds me of the sheet carts at Home Depot. If I thought I could actually push one of those home I would… Lol.

I’m from Iowa. I run sled208 on all the sled forums

Ah I see. 208 is the area code where I’m from and lots of people use it in their forum names.

Unfortunately al the steel shops around me closed over Christmas/new year - and I’m out!

I plan on getting my stock guillotined to 2x2 foot pieces (unless doing something specific). Was also planning on keeping 1, 3, 5mm (I’m in Aussie) on this little trolley I knocked up to slide u der my bench.
