Using fusion 360 im having trouble getting the text taller but not wider
Welcome to the forum. So, if you met someone on the street and they told you exactly what you’ve told us, what else would you need to know to help them?
Im drawing a sign 12"x36" with a long text and it is exceeding past 36" so i need to get the text a bit narrower
Select the text and then use the Scale function to specify how much smaller you’d like it to be.
In a sketch there is only uniform scale.
If you extrude your part into a body you can use non-uniform scale.
To scale how you’re talking about you would need to use non-uniform scale.
The Text tool doesn’t have kerning adjustment?
It does but Fusion uses the layman terminology of “Character Spacing (%)”
I figured he’d want it scaled uniformly so it didn’t turn out too wonky looking. But small narrowing could be okay even leaving the original height. Non-uniform scaling tends to require manual kerning too which may be outside his comfort zone.
@Kingranch1977 I made a short video that I think may address your topic.

and @Kingranch1977 Welcome to the Forum
It seems @Kingranch1977 disappears on weekends so we have no idea what he really wants or what his file looks like… A lot of speculation without any guidance…
@TinWhisperer I’m glad you’re doing the tutorials in YouTube now. I was too ‘twitchy’ trying yet another tool…
