That looks like links to a chain or bucket conveyor. Very cool. That is some heavy plate you are cutting.
It does look similar doesn’t it. The company I work for has a complete rebuild shop for heave equipment. These plates are just temporary tie downs to make transport easier.
When they ship a undercarriage most mechanics on the jobs don’t care if they get sent back.
Here is a picture you can see they hold the bogies on the undercarriage from dropping down.
