I’ve been having no success WHATSOEVER.
The forum has been amazing help. Tech Support has been absolutely great.
I just can’t seem to work out these kinks.
As of right now I have an extremely expensive paperweight I can’t use.
If anyone knows someone in the Poteet, Texas or San Antonio, Texas area that services CrossFire XR tables I would greatly appreciate it.
Or even if they just HAVE an XR. At least someone who is familiar with my table and can see where I went wrong. I’m so frustrated at this point.
What are the issues you are having? With table or software, I am sure that can be solved if you post the issues you are having.
The motors don’t seem to be in sync.
I think I’ve just bit off more than I can chew quite frankly. lol
And to be completely honest I’m not very tech savvy and the lingo and terminology is really over my head.
I’m a welder and fabricator formerly at a coal mine and currently at a sand mine. I figured this was just plug and play and would be put to good use on side jobs and at work.
At this point the $1,700 Langmuir wanted to assemble my table seems like a small price to pay. lol
Unfortunately it wasn’t in my budget at the time of purchase.
Move gantry to rear of table and look at distance between the two-y axis stops, if distance measurement is different between the two switch stops then the gantry will be bound up as it travels in y-axis movement.
I’ll definitely try that. Thank you
I have been where you are at. I have had my table for right past a year and could never get both Y motors to be right. Always a bind somewhere. Thought it was the Y1 motor and they sent a new one. Still happened. Started at the first 6 inches and then at the last sweep of the break in program even after jogging was good. I kept following the manuals Langmuir sent me and finally broke off on my own mechanical experience. Yes, plenty of hours talking to Michael and Johnathon there in the XR Tech Support. They were great but I needed on site help. I kept breaking bolts and then snap some plates during IT and it was draining us. Wife and I still have yet to get to double digits on cut time because it has taken some time to get the Y movement in a good state. Here are some things I did to help for this:
- Make sure you Gantry rollers are sitting right on the guide tube. Mine was out a wack a little and it would bind.
- After binding so much, one of the guide tubes developed a burr and had to file it off.
- Clean every touch point and then I place a little lithium grease on a rag and wipe it down.
Since I have done this, I have not had an issue with the motors or binding since… I have moved on to newer issues with the programs and Fusion…
