Lifting the Gantry so material can pass under the x-axis

I am in the process of lifting the whole gantry 1" to allow for passing material under the x-axis rails. has anyone else done this? have you ran into any long term trouble by doing this? my reasoning is that it is much easier to have both axis have clearance for material so that index cutting has a broader scope overall. With plenty of travel in the z-axis to accommodate this I am just surprised that I have not seen others do it more often, so it has me re thinking it. I already made the plates and I am at the point of unbolting and lifting, just looking for some feedback from anyone who has already done this

*edit- I inverted x and y axis in my comments above.

I would maybe put in some altered stanchion plates and raise the y-axis which in turn will raise the x-axis.

Search the word stanchion in the magnifying glass above and I’m sure you’ll find a lot of info and I posted some cut files for some stanchion risers in the past.

welcome to the forum…

As my fellow Forum member mentioned…searching the forum will get you great results…
you could also look in the Fireshare tab and look there…

i had looked in fireshare and did not see anything there as far as options for lifting the gantry so there is clearance under the y axis. i guess once i do it it is it works i will add my sire there.

I posted a high and higher riser here.

If there’s not one on fire share I’ll post it here in a few minutes

There should be no issues, just make sure you are square and plumb.
