Lead ins, Lead outs

When cutting circular shapes and I have an outside offset cut being made, I get a small notch where the torch start/ends. Any suggestions on how to get a good clean cut and avoid the notch? Thanks.

Check your lead-in/out values. You want to have it spaced at least as far away as your kerf - I usually go twice the kerf - about .1 and a shallow angle so it sweeps smoothly into the curve of the cut. Same for the lead-out so it moves away from the cut before it stops and cools. If it’s too steep an angle it may still notch because it has to make a tight transition from the lead-in to the cut.

Great. Thanks for the advice.

How have your cuts turned out, having same issue.

If you are cutting on the inside of the circle, cutting a hole, use an inside cut…the little notch is your lead in/out on the outside of your cut. Also generally when cutting a hole use a counter clockwise direction, because of the plasma swirl direction you get a smother cut. If you are cutting a small hole even a 0.15 leadin/out maybe to long…use a little overrun at the end of the cut.
