I may be the last person to figure this out, but I’m throwing this out there anyway. Based on the instruction to remove the stanchion bolts I assumed the bracket for the laptop stand mounted on the outside of the frame. In my tiny shop that meant the laptop was always in the way when I’m not using the table. In a “duh” moment I realized that putting the bracket to the inside allows the laptop to be swung almost completely over the table and out of the way.
do you have the dxf file to fab that stand ?
There are several versions available in Fireshare. Just search for “laptop”

I have a mil spec hd laptop that’s not issue
Hot metal and laptop screens don’t mix. I don’t care who made it, period. You will see a really fast
Like others said there’s a few files on file share.

Interesting concept, having a touchscreen separate from the laptop. Keep the touchscreen permanent to the equipment, allows you to move the laptop around the shop…
I like it! Too bad I left my dual arm support in Maine… sigh, I guess I’ll just have to buy another…
You haven’t set up your laptop to run with the lid closed? That would be even safer.
Definitely Safer but this is very convenient. I need to get some intake filters for this poor lappy .
I often take this laptop to site or the other shop.
