Laptop Mount ready to build!

I have seen lots of people asking for files for one so I modeled one up that should be easy to build and uses a hinge off Amazon. It does however require welding.

Who wants to be a guinea pig and let me know what needs adjusted?
I don’t have my table yet or I would cut a prototype myself.

For now I will not post this on Fireshare until we know it works well. I will pm the files to whoever wants to test it out.

I could give it a try in a few days. Just getting my table setup and need some starter projects.

I would like to try it out. I should be able to complete it Thursday.

PM sent. I will cut tonight if i get files

Mikal_M and fredycruger have the files and are going to test out the prototype for us. After any necessary adjustments I will post this up on Fireshare for everyone. Thanks to those two for being a guinea pig for us!

For those poor souls that dont own a welder I will work on a complete bolt together solution soon!

Looks great! Any issues or things that need changed? I already opened up the slots to allow larger leads but anything other than that?

both sets of bolt holes I had to drill out to make bolts go thru… not sure if it was on my end but no biggie… and I made my own hinge from 2 pieces of 3/8" ID 1/2" OD x 3-1/2" hollow stock and 1 piece of 3/8" OD x 2-1/2" solid steel stock…

Awesome. I’ll open up the holes a bit and post the files for everyone on Monday! Thanks Mikal for being our guinea pig!

did the other guy ever get his cut? and welded together? also if you can figure out a way to make a bolt together kit ill cut and try it as well. I have plenty of steel stock. I work for a guy who owns a scrap yard and I get all the metal I need. all of our local welding shops take their drops and scrap steel to him and I get to pick thru it.

Can you add 2 cutouts to the top plate near where the laptop screen folds down to run a strap thru to hold computer on stand? So it couldnt get knocked off.
