It's been awhile. Post those projects!

I’ve been thinking of making a nice chair for the shop after seeing the vyper stool or whatever it’s called. That video looks great, definitely sturdy

FWIW, OSHA recommends 5 legs as they are much less likely to tip…

That stool looks pretty cool! All most too nice to use

 :man_shrugging:
There is probably a proverb to cover this, but I can’t remember what it is…

Definitely Funk-A-Delic!

Thank you Tom! I’m excited to get a bigger table soon.

Where did you get your motor and pullies?

Couple more pictures.

@reid913 On the plant-based sign did you do some heat tinting?

A couple new signs for a craft show in a couple weeks

Just a few things whipped up this weekend. The two signs are for a high-school friend, ones for her office the other for her brother. The crab is a birthday present for a chesapeake steamed crab lover. Also a wall decoration for a landmark recently imploded.

I got the motor on eBay. You need to find a 56c face, tefc enclosure, 3 phase 220v. This was only a 1hp, but it works and cost me $100 shipped. I think I got the wheels on both amazon and eBay. I just shopped around for the best buy.

I assume you mean the grinder. This is the most recent version. I changed the angle of the idler wheel, and thickened the platen to 1/2" to prevent a little flex I was getting. Same table and wheels. I also have a 12" wheel for it. It’s working pretty nicely. I found a 3hp Balder motor online so bought it and am making a VFD housing for that one. I’m going to make a disc grinder with the 1hp. Pic below…

The 1HP motor you had wasn’t strong enough???

1 hp worked, but more is always better  I make knives and do metal sculpture, so sometimes I’m really hogging off material, and against the platen there’s a lot of friction on both sides of the belt. I can slow down a 1hp motor. That said, it’s easy enough to back off and just take a little more time. I also found a Baldor 3hp for under $200 which is a really good deal, so I just grabbed it. I’ll probably put it on another one of mine, and put a 2hp on this one and the 1hp will be perfect for a 9" disc grinder I’m designing.
