Issues cutting 1/4" steel. stops piercing mid cut

im having issues with my plasma cutter when cutting thick steel like 1/4" mild plate. when cutting its stops piercing through the steel and just cut into the plate but doesnt fully penetrate. if i manually slow the machine downmid cut it seems to pierce again but it doenst make sense as im already running very slow.

i use sheet cam to set it up.
specs:
cut rate: 23in/min
pierce height: 2mm but have been trying 1.5 and 3 without success.
cut height 2mm
plunge rate: 60in.min
pierce delay: 2.14 seconds has been just enough to pierce the metal

plasma cutter: hynade cut 60D with default consumables and torch
cutting with 45 amps
120PSI to the machine and the regulator insdie set to 75PSI out

and yes i have the clamp on a clean part of the steel.

Is it the 60D or the 60DN?

What cutting tip size are you using?

1/4"/6mm mild steel, 1.0mm/50 amps cutting tip at around 52IPM/1375mm/min or 1.1mm/60 amps cutting tip at 65IPM/1600mm/min

Air should be fine if it holds 75PSI when cutting

Pierce height should be .15"/4 mm
Cut height should be .060"/1.5 mm
Pierce delay .07 sec.

its was a cut60DN. found out the issue. bad consumables. rookie mistake. though the real issue is finding consumables for this plasma cutter. Hynade discontinued it and i havent been able to find any. it claims its a IPT60 torch but its consumables look different than he IPT60 consumables i see online. Know if i can use the same machine what a different torch, an actual IPT60 torch perhaps?

Can you post a picture of the consumables your torch has?

Yes you can use a PTM60 torch. It will have to be wired for your plasma cutter. I only sell the Tecmo (made in Italy) PTM60 torch at $410 + shipping. But you can get some cheaper Chinese copy on ebay and amozon.

Here’s the picture of the consumable that I pulled from the machine during this issue.

That’s the electrode. It looks like one of those chinese torch’s they use on the Harbor Freight plasma cutters. Also your getting to much moisture in your air. Its not a IPT60 torch for sure.

Good to know about the air. Was never sure as I had a cheap little dryer set up in-line. Will do upgrades. Is there any reason I couldn’t buy a IPT60 torch and wire it up to this plasma cutter? That way I can start using IPT60 consumables?

What’s the wiring process like? Just making sure the pins on the torch match the pins coming out of the machine?

If you buy the torch and consumables from me you won’t have to do any wiring.
