I’m new to all of this and am getting my table soon so I decided do download the fusion 360 and to start I just wanted something to cut out. So I went to etsy and bought a pre made dxf file. But it seems the only thing I can do to it is rotate it. It has dark blue outlines and is light blue on the inside. Not to sure where to go from here. If someone could help I’d appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
Check out the langmuir videos on using fusion360. They show step by step on how to create a design.
When you load your DXF into fusion it is in design. Thats for re scaling making changes such as adding or removing parts. Extruding… on and on. When your happy with it click the Manufacture tab. Create new set up and do that part, Then select cutting tab and you have alot of things to make sure you do correct. As NicaDd stated the videos are the best way to learn. Dont let it stress you out. Make list of each step from 1 to the end of steps to follow. After using your cheat sheet while it will become natural to do.
thanks for the reply. I’m slowly working on it. Just trying to get a head start on this before my table gets here and it useless because I don’t know how to run it . Lol
Running the table after setup is complete is the small part. The design and making cut files are the real adventure. Fusion 360 is kinda over kill for what we are doing, But hey if you ever want to design a space ship I think Fusion could handle that. And your welcome.
I have downloaded a .DXF file in 360. I want to move some parts closer together in the file to save metal when I cut. There is no sketch history and when I select something to move it moves the whole sketch. Any idea how to move separate items in a downloaded .DXF sketch?
