IHS Issue I cant pin down

Multiple cuts were running fine, then mid-cut the machine threw an IHS alarm.

After stopping and inspecting the torch head assembly, I found one of the IHS wires broken off at the terminal. The wire was repaired, but the issue did not resolve.

What’s odd is that the IHS indicator on the computer stays GREEN even when:

  • The IHS spade connectors are completely disconnected, or

  • The IHS cable is disconnected at the control box

Posting to see if anyone has run into a similar issue or has insight on what would cause the IHS signal to remain green with the circuit physically disconnected.

It’s supposed to stay green when the circuit is broken. The IHS switch is a normally closed loop. Triggering the switch opens the loop. If your IHS light is Green, the circuit is still broken somewhere.
