Lots of people run the powermax 1000/65! At least one customer is running an 85.
The current models (air plasma cutters) from Hypertherm are Powermax30xp, Powermax45xp, Powermax65, and Powermax85 (there also are Powermax105 and 125 which are 3 phase power only). These are all industrial / commercial plasma cutters that are used on 80% of large industrial cnc machines, as well as on Langmuir type machines. If you are looking for the lowest price for a new plasma you likely won’t find it with the US made Hypertherm systems, however they pay you back over time with the lowest operating cost (dramatically better consumable life, free online and phone tech support, faster cut speeds and less cleanup of cut edges, as well as many pages of cut charts for mechanized cutting in the supplied manuals. Since Hypertherm has been in business for over 50 years you can find some excellent prices on used air plasma’s from Hypertherm on Craigslist and other classified ad type forums. Look for older models such as Powermax1000, Powermax1250, Powermax45 and Powermax30, often you can get a good used Hypertherm for less than the new import plasma cutters. Jim Colt
