Hypertherm 45 sync issue?

Bought a sync 45 got 888 pierces on fine cut tip and flame is going sideways kind of. How many pierces do you get before quality goes away. And to get better detail cut is there any changes I can make torch height its at .140. Torch speed of cut / etc ??

sounds like about 880 pierces for you. Its different for everyone depending on our air quality and other factors. 880 is not bad but some people get more. I am not sure if fine cut get more or less compared to regular consumables.

Where do you get the pierce count?

I have switched back and forth between fine and regular quite a few times. I did get the RFID reader when I got my set-up, maybe it’s a good time to look at it. I’m still pretty green when it comes to the CNC plasma table. I’ll be surprised if I have 200 pierces total between the two tips.

If you use Firecontrol, pierce count is at the very bottom. Ideally you’ll reset it every time you swap consumables.

But Sync cartridges have a reader and it’ll tell you on your phone (via app) how many pierces it has per cartridge.

You can also read a truncated version of the sync cartridge data through the machine itself. Which does include starts and cut time.

Mine is the Powermax 45 and it doesn’t have the cool display that the Powermax 65 has.

I have the reader so I will do that after while just for kicks and grins!

I do use Firecontrol, my version is the compatibility version. I have never noticed the pierce count, I will look for that as well this afternoon.

@Allcutup , Sorry I highjacked your thread. I know none of this is anything to your question.

According to the reader thing, my Fine cut consumable has 727 Pilot Arcs and 651 Arc Transfers. My standard cut has 61 Pilot Arcs and 60 Arc Transfers. Fire Control shows 377 Pierces and Torch time of 0:13:39. I did reload FireControl at one point so that is not accurate.

David, what are you cutting? Type and thickness?
