Howdy From New Crosfire 2x2 in MO 1 Question

Hello,
I’m a new customer of a Crosfire 2x2 machine in Southern MO.
I am putting software together and learning FreeCad…
I am looking at buying Sheetcam and have one question:

Can you install your license for Sheetcam on more than one computer.

I have a Laptop in the shop and a PC in my office… so don’t want to install on the wrong one if I only get 1 install…

You can migrate your license to another computer after emailing customer support. You can also probably get a discount on a second license if you ask as well, but it is one license per computer.

Thank you for the info and reply!

Yep. I bought two licenses…

I’d just have the license on the computer connected to the table.

No sense in creating G code away from the table; worst case you access your PC remotely for whatever reason.

That’s funny, I’m the opposite. I create all my g code on the couch and go cut later. I use a NAS setup so all the files are always there on the garage computer (hdmi stick pc).

I use Fusion, so realistically I could create my g code at my gaming PC where I design, or at the table.

For the sake of the author’s use case, I would definitely want to do it where the table is in the event that I need to suddenly make a change or implement other items last minute. Having the computer with Sheetcam at the table helps facilitate this. That is, if you’re not able to remotely access the other computer one decided to install Sheetcam on.

Welcome to the site @FabricationPlanet

I’m new also, I haven’t decited yet but I’m thinking I will install it on the computer in the house.

That would be my approach… I use an older laptop to run my stuff in the shop, just because I have had too many “accidents” and lost all the files or hard drive…
On other equipment, I do the “real work” at my desk, and just leave that computer on and sharing the folders on the network.
On the laptop I grab the file and load/run.
Other software I have is not limited to 1 install 1 license … so if I need to make adjustments, I can open and edit at the machine…

Sounds like the “work-around” is to have the “license” at the machine…
I can do all the work at my desk, save the file on the desk “shared on the network”…
Then grab the file at the machine just to export the G-code to run…
It works… just not as convenient…
