Downloaded a file from FireShare and cannot get it to a size I need ( to fit table at least.)
Also have successfully sketched a part with the right dimensions but when I bring it up in the controller the size is way off.
What am I missing besides a few hairs?
Anytime I’ve imported anything into Fusion 360, I’ve had issues with the piece. I’ve resolved most issues by selecting the whole part, Make a copy of it in Fusion, and paste the new piece right next to the original. Then delete the original and work with the new copy. No clue what the heck it does but for some reason, fusion likes it’s own copy a lot better. Take a measurement on the new copy with the measurement function and re-scale it to whatever size you want it to be. If it measures 8" tall and you want it 13" tall, you do some quick math 13/8= 1.625 and that is your scale factor. That you enter into the scale ratio box and you should be good to go!
Hope this helps!
Thanks , gonna try when I get another day to spend on it. Also some of the parts I did get on there had extra cut lines showing in green. They were not suppose to be there and the simulator shows them to be cut,
Was it me or the part I downloaded that messed up?
Still no go, can’t copy and paste, not sure I understand.
When I think I have it to size in Fusion, it twice the size when I load it in the controller.
Also getting the message
Warning: One or more passes were discarded due to linking constraints.
Any ideas?
Did you double check wether your units are in mm or inches. Linking constraints are usually due to, to much lead in /out, lead in angle, your kerf is to wide for cut or a combination of those
Also if your file has green lines when you upload it and not blue you need to highlight and select fix/unfix
Only green is in the radius run in and out, everything else is blue except for the travel.
Have changed mm to inches in CAM.
Tried to used the fireshare of the horse head.
Seems like all went well till I finished and it showed me the warning 6 out of 7 times. The one time all parts were blue and cut good thru the simulator , when I loaded the Gcode in Mach the 19.5” head was around 52”.
11/15/18
Another example, sketched a 4" circle with another 1/2" circle in model. checked/inspect the measurement to be sure.
move over to CAM, changed mm to inches, went through the process. simulator worked good. loaded G code into Mach 3 , circle popped up on display as being 12" in size, center hole about 1,1/2".
going crazy at this point! `what am I missing?
