I opened Autodesk fusion 360 yesterday for the first time and used it while going through the instructional videos, today I opened it to pick up where I left off yesterday, now it says it is offline. How do I get it back online, my computer is connected to the internet and is working properly.
Hi,
Do you have offline mode checked? This video shows you can toggle between offline and online modes.
Online mode is checked but says that there is no internet connection, the pc is connected to the internet and working properly.
If you are running windows 10 I have had this happen when Microsoft decided that I needed an update in the background. I simply closed Fusion. Then restarted my PC. Waited for the update to finish it’s install. Then launched Fusion normally. I was back online and my local file synced with my Autodesk cloud account.
Updates like to precache new driver files over old ones when doing background updates. Causes issues most often with NIC (Network interface cards … Wired/wireless) and Audio drivers. I get at least 1 call a week about one of these not working because of hidden updates.
It has the message “The code execution cannot be processed because python35.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.” When I tried to uninstall the program I get the same message. ???
I did a little googling and found this https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-design-validate/fusion-360-will-not-launch-the-progam-cant-start-because/td-p/6998183
Try running the program as administrator (right click on the fusion 360 desktop Icon and select 'Run As Administrator" from the popup list).
See if that resolves the issue.
Thanks, but the same as before with the same message, still offline, no connection, even though the PC is online and working properly.
If that didn’t work here’s a link to an article on how to manually uninstall Fusion360 https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-do-a-clean-uninstall-of-Autodesk-Fusion-360.html
You might want to copy your local cached files so you don’t lose any work you did offline first.
Just make a copy of the following folder
the *** in path below change to your windows username and Fusion 360 ID (this wil be a random series of letters and numbers that Autodesk assigns to you)
(From Autodesk’s knowlagebase article https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-locate-locally-cached-files-in-Autodesk-Fusion-360.html)
On the hard drive, locally cached files are stored in the below directories.
Windows
“C:\Users\ *** \AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\ *** \W.Login”
Having trouble finding this directory?
How to enable hidden files and folders on Windows
Hopefully this helps. Sorry it’s way more involved than just click here.
Let us know how it turns out.
