Help with Cutting .5in steel

Okay I have a question regarding general cutting, so what I’ve got is I am trying to cut out a crimping tool. It’s on the crossfire pro with a razor weld 45 and I’m cutting it 12 inches per minute, it at 45 A, it’s half-inch steel. You can look at these pictures to see what I’m talking about but the tool I’m making is a two-piece crimping tool that’s like pliers and so the teeth need to line up, the the overall shape of the cut is just about perfect except on the side everything‘s on an angle I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to correct that or if that’s just what happens when you cut half inch steel, let me know your thoughts on anything I can adjust or if that’s just what I got to deal with, I need the teeth on the tool to be straight vertical so that the two halves lineup. I’m not sure why the pics didn’t work the first time, so here they are.

If you haven’t added any feed optimization to your program that might help some . it’ll allow the bottom part of the plasma stream to catch up.
Anywhere between 40 and 60% of your normal cut speed for the program applied to the smaller radius

Ok, how and where do I add optimization? Also is 12 in per minute a good speed for.5in?

Does that just mean slow down the speed 40-60%?

This is where it’s found in fusion 360.
in sheet cam I believe it’s under rules. Hopefully one of the sheetCAM guys will elaborate where the settings are in that software.

I have seen that inches per minute posted for a half inch on the razor weld before on this site.

If you’re using a cut speed of 12 in per minute.

12 * .60 = 7.2ipm. Round 7ipm
12* .40 = 4.8ipm round 5ipm

So during your feed rate optimization for small radii I would lower the speed down between 5-7 inches per minute.

I’m not sure how long your Pierce delay is but I would also make sure it’s fully pierced before moving forward.
