I was wondering if anyone could take a look at this dxf file (it’s a Nativity scene) and see if you are having the same problem I have. When selecting the chains in the geometry tab it will not allow me to select the perimeter of the scene. I am guessing that its something simple but I new to this and can’t figure it out. Even if someone could fix it and then send it to me or something like that I would really appreciate it! Thanks

When I pull the dxf file up it has some broken lines
@rockreadyfabworks I found I think 5 broken lines on outer perimeter of drawing and one inside of it. Also if your using .06 kerf you need to do some minor editing to donkey’s tail and also to a small spot on palm tree in top left corner to not get any linking constraints on outside perimeter think Drawing was roughly 20" wide or a little less when I set up tooling 20181114_110355|690x486
Thanks so much, so next question is how did you fix it? I am still trying to learn this new system, thanks for your help! Anyway to send me the corrected one?
I can possibly send when I get home. Seems like when I save some files as dxf in fusion the lines break. If I cant figure it out I’ll circle the areas that are broke and you can just connect them. Did you get all your tooling set for the inside there are some pretty small cuts outs you may have to get creative setting up tooling on them possibly delete or widen some at the size its scaled

Using Inkscape to fix the design & saving as SVG often works better. DXF doesn’t always maintain the integrity of bezier curves. Fusion will let you insert SVG as well as DXF.

The drawing isnt broke horribly but is broke in a few places a lot of times I more or less draw lines through drawing to pinpoint broken areas. I use inkscape quite a bit to trace or add font to curves etc… but hate manually moving nodes on my laptop, just need some more time to get the hang of it. Wish I knew a better way to save drawing that has been edited or created in fusion.

Thanks for your help guys, sounds like I need to get Inkscape figured out as well. There is alot to learn but its all interesting stuff. Maybe if someone does get it figured out and fixed they could upload it to the “Fireshare” website?
thanks!
I just checked the Fireshare and it looks like the file has been uploaded by someone. So tonight I will try that one and see if it works. Thanks
