Head's Up. If you're considering getting a laser, Lightburn price is going up

Lightburn is an excellent piece of software that has been a bargain for a long time. It is so easy to use that I have used it to process vector files even if I’m using them for another purpose (including Plasma Cutting, to take a random example). They have announced that the price for their software is going up on Oct. 1 (New LightBurn license types and pricing coming Oct 1, 2024 – LightBurn Software)

If you’re remotely thinking about getting a laser this year or even in 2025, it would be wise to get Lightburn at its current price and register before Oct. 1.
Basic price: $60 now, $99 on Oct. 1
DSP price: $120 now, $199 on Oct. 1

The latest version, 1.7.00 has just been released with new vector editing features including export to DXF (in addition to SVG which they’ve always supported).

I have no business interests in Lightburn. I just think it’s great SW and it runs on Windows, MAC, and Linux. However, they have said that V1.7 is the last update for Linux.

damn, galvo is still $150 but that’s going up too and being combined with DSP so it might be a good idea to purchase now to get the free upgrade after Oct 1.

Excellent point! I’m not considering Galvo so didn’t even think of that!
But, knowing how you guys tend to get us guys to buy more stuff…
the new licensing terms will work well with me!!

In fact, purchase the DSP and then, after Oct 1, get the Galvo for free! Hmmm, might need to check if that strategy will work…

that might actually work better than purchasing the reverse, if it does work. save $30.
