Has Anyone Tested the Machine Torches with Off-Brand Merch?

Hello,

Me again here…finding references for super late builds.

Does that machine torch work on non-related merchandise like random plasma cutting devices?

I have this Klutch I purchased and it is model number PFC700 45A.

This model is outdated and probably serves no purpose in this arena but:

  1. I noticed it has been discontinued.
  2. Here is the amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/Klutch-PFC700-Dual-Voltage-Plasma-Cutter/dp/B08KFMYQQ8
  3. Are there any frequently purchased items like plasma machines that can cut with this specific torch outside of the idea for my plasma machine working?

Seth

It uses the same style connector, so it could be made to work on that machine. It may just plug in and work or you may have to move some pins in the connector to make it work. Do you have confidence in your ability to troubleshoot any issues and make it work?

Be aware that a machine torch is useless without an external controller to fire the torch. It needs to be used on a table.

I can test whatever however. No issue. Now, troubleshoot…

Troubleshooting is like a test of some sort. I think I can. Yes, I can.

@ds690 , gotcha on the table and machine torch config.

I was thinking of replacing the current torch head with the viable, good solution…

Then, I read the fine print on the plasma machine I have. 45A is for 230V and not 115V.

Blah…I can only get 115v at much less amperage with this specific model. It came with two plugs, 115v and 230v.

Anyway, thank you. I am still looking around the research ideas and “shopping around.”

Seth

P.S. Still thinking over here and researching as much as possible. I would not much invest in the Klutch if you are looking for real world application with CNC like the CrossFire.

Supposedly, from what I read, cutting metal of 1/4" is doable with the PFC700 but I have not tested it yet. Chicken little over here always trying to one up someone in a game of I bought this and you have none of it! ha.

All jokes aside, thank you for getting back to me.

PM this guy on the forum, @mechanic416. He owns a plasma shop and a repair shop. He is a savant when it comes to this stuff. His name is George.

Thank you. I will think about it. I am not into DM or PM specifically on various sites due to my ease of naive behaviors.

Seth

P.S. Thank you for the heads up, though. Serious thought will go into it all…

The reference to George @mechanic416 is a safe and well respected person on this forum. Here is his website page on Ebay. He is very knowledgeable and has been repairing plasma cutters/torches for decades.

You won’t be disappointed if you contact him:

I am still thinking it over. Thank you @Bigdaddy2166 , @ChelanJim , and @ds690 .

I will be consuming some time with this Achy Breaky Back-i-tis for a while. So, no rush on my issue for now. And yes, no cure. Back-i-tis is real (to me at least) and to anyone who asks if I know about it.

Seth

P.S. Off to research the ebay store! Thank you guys, again and again.

That is a tool no one thought they would ever need until it was invented.

Although I don’t have one, I have used a de-scaler before.
It is a cool tool.

Best tool ever when doing a lot of welding it tight places to get a chipping hammer.
