Reaching out for a little help. I’m using a Harbor Freight Titanium 45 plasma on a Langmuir crossfire pro table with thc. Running a production order of small parts 3/4" x 9" out of 1/8 5052 aluminum with qty4 3/16 holes. Air supply is clean and dry, running through a refrigerated air dryer and industrial particulate filter. Cutting at 40amps internal air regulator bypassed with external regulator installed running at 80psi, 105 ipm perimeter cut and 30 ipm for the holes. Pierce height 1/8", pierce delay 1.3s, cut height 1/16".
Here is my problem…everything cuts great but consumables are only lasting around 150 pierces. This seems excessive to me. Tips still look fine, orfice is not enlarged or out of shape. Electrode has minimal pitting. The failure mode is that it starts to not pierce at pierce height, only pierces after it drops to the cut height. Then a few cuts later it fails to ignite with a F07 code (stuck electrode). If I tap the torch a couple times like a woodpecker with a wrench then restart, it will fire and run for a couple more cuts before failing to ignite anymore.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? What is normal for consumable life?
Are you running hand torch that come with Titanium? I run the Plasmadyn x45 machine torch on my Titanium 45, never gave me issues. You need to run full 45 amp on cutter, .5 second delay, .055 cut height, .0150 pierce height and 90 imp cut speed. These are aluminum setting I cut on my pro with titanium 45, no dross clean cut.
If you are running hand torch I would shitcan it and purchase machine torch, I get on average 1600-1800 pierces on consumables, using Hypertherm consumables.

I’m using the hand torch currently. That is impressive on the pierces you are getting and nice clean cut. I’ve looked at the plasmadyn machine torch but haven’t pulled the trigger as I wasn’t sure if it was related to the torch or plasma itself. I just received the primeweld cut60 that I ordered and considered trying it out.
What are you using for air filtration/drying?
Using Arrow filter system, on my XR setup now. 3/4" Rapid airline from compressor throughout my shop, 6-foot-long airline from my motor Guard to my plasma cutter. I am getting 2400- 2500 pierces on Hypertherm powermax 45 xp plasma cutter.

old thread, but incorrect info - the error codes are almost always due to low air pressure and/or flow.
The oem internal regulator is suspect at best. Pop open case and turn knob clockwise 1-3 turns to increase pressure - this virtually always solves the reset 05/07 error code.
If you need parts - we manufacture them.
