I’ve seen posts of people using XBox controlers to move the head around. However the posts I found are several years old.
What is the current choice for a handheld remote to jog the machine?

But also still relevant
Antimicro is a great stable program.
I prefer the SNES style wireless controller myself .
I’ve used the same setup on both my PRO and now on my XR
I have the X-box and use Antimicro as Tin suggested. But I find myself just grabbing my wireless keyboard and carrying it over to the table just as often.
I like the TinMan’s controller. I use a simple bluetooth numbers pad. Works great.
Compact, rechargeable Bluetooth number pad with quiet keys and multi-function design for enhanced productivity. Check it out on Amazon now! Amazon.com
The arrows for direction and page up and down moves torch up and down.
I use the PS5 controller. Same deal using Antimicro. Works perfectly.
The reason I went with PS5 is they are all bluetooth and thus wireless. Xbox controllers have multiple different versions and not all of them work wireless with a PC or they require a dongle.
I tried several different Xbox controllers and finally just grabbed the PS5 (It may even be a PS4).
Just running through old post. This is absolutely Awesome. Ordering the SNES wireless controller today. 2 pack on ebay for $23. Thanks for sharing
awesome just a warning alt,s has not been working for me . it is the hotkey for start.
Good to know perhaps in the next Fire control update Langmuir could update the Alt S to a different hot key. Certainly the whole keep board has not been used. There is so much I do not know about fire control.
I will be happy to just be able to jog while I’m moving metal to orient it. Honestly I probably spend to much time to same $3 of metal. I charge per square foot used regardless of how much waste is used.
What would be nice is if Langmuir would Open Source Fire Control. Offer the official release and also offer it as open source so people could edit functions.
Just buy one of these. It has worked great for years. Arrows move table and page up page down move the Z.
Compact 22-key wireless number pad for quick, easy numeric input on laptops via 2.4GHz connection. It’s a popular product! Amazon.com
It’s in my amazon cart.. I used to hack game controllers 30 years ago to play video games on computers with a controller rather than “W A S D”. So the idea of using an hack for a SNES controller has a special place in my heart.
This works also but is a bit to busy for a guy with fat fingers. Compact wireless keyboard with touchpad, RGB backlit keys, multimedia controls, and rechargeable battery for smart TVs, PCs, and more. Check it out now! Amazon.com
I actually have a ……… wait for it. Smaller version that I used occasionally for a Raspberry Pi
