Gouging patterns?

Has anyone on here used their torch to gouge in lines, patterns or anything else they didnt want cut but wanted something visible using the razorcut 45?

Search for ‘Marking Lines’

I have not see anyone use the razerweld 45 for that application.

the Hypertherm 45xp has some tricks that allows it to perform this function .

comparing the two plasma.

The hypertherm has a 10-45amp range and the razerweld has a 20-45amps

this low amp output is key to marking.

Hypertherm also has special consumables for this operation.

also while marking can done with air the best results come from argon. the razerweld recommends not using anything but compressed air with thier units.

marking option 5

That said no reason you could not try to mark with your machine but some trail and error will be involved.

Definately sounds like trial and error…mostly error. If i had to make any guesses i would be at the minimum amps and high ipm. Probably need some anti spatter.

i got my rw45 to come close to doing marking by forgetting to attach the ground to the plate i was working on lol.

But you’d definitely need to drop amps to minimum, besides that lots of trial and error and consumables
